The Gilmore Adventures in the Little House in the Tumbleweeds. Our town of Van Horn, Texas is a small place, but also a place where God speaks to us if we are willing to listen.
About us Gilmores
My husband, Ralph, and I homeschooled our 6 children for 16 years. Our 3 sons are out on their own pursuing their own passions and going to college. One son just graduated this year (2015) from Dallas Christian College with a degree in psychology, summa cum laude. Another son is pursuing his career in producing and performing his own music. My oldest son and his wife are about to have their third daughter. All three daughters are married and either have a little one or are expecting soon. Yea! Fortunately, we get to see them on holidays or when mom says "I need my kids!".
Meanwhile, I work full time in my business, as I have for the last 8 years, and my husband works full time as the general manager of the historic Hotel El Capitan in Van Horn. We tried to incorporate "business 101" into our home schooling whenever possible.

- As a working, home schooling mom, I have challenges that I cannot face on my own. Praise God that I have a Savior Who saves me from myself and Who shoulders the burdens that are too big for me. He walks with me and encourages me every day. My prayer is that in testifying to His love in my life, you will be encouraged in yours.

My, Lord. Deanna is becoming quite a beautiful young woman. I still have the image of Deanna as a cute little girl locked in my memory.
I can't believe how much she resembles my cousin Andrea, another beautiful woman.
I'll be sure to check in from time to time to see how the Texas Gilmore's are doing.
